9 ways you can maximize the time you spend with your family: Part 2

The Equity in Business Leadership reported that 56 percent of mothers find work-life balance challenging while 50 percent of men feel the same way. These numbers indicate it's more important than ever to maximize the time you have to spend with your kids. In part two of our three-part series, we detail three more ways to find that precious time:

1. Create a better work-life balance

In 2013 nearly 70 percent of women who had children under 18 were in the workforce. According to 32 percent of mothers, working full-time is ideal. Compare that to 2007 when 20 percent of mothers felt the same way.

It's important to balance the amount of time you spend working with the amount of time you spend with your family. If you can, stop working when you get home or at least allot a few hours a week after work to play games with your children or read them a book.

2. Designate one day a week as a "family day"

We often get so caught up in our busy lives that we take for granted those closest to us. As parents, you want to ensure you're spending enough quality time with your children. Doing so will help them develop into well-educated adults while you also make some fun memories with them.

Designate a Friday or Saturday night as "family night." Each week you and your family can have fun in a new way.

3. Hire a housekeeper

You want to spend more time with your kids, but it's difficult to find moments to spare in between cleaning dishes, vacuuming floors and doing laundry. If you feel you spend a little too much time making everything spotless, hiring a house cleaner is a good idea. A housekeeper will instantly take the burden off of you to keep your house in top shape.
