8 travel problems you’ll face during the holidays: Part Two

Traveling isn't easy! During your trip, you're likely to face a lot of problems. In the final part of our two-part series, we look at a couple more issues you could face and ways to solve them.

1. Antsy children

Let's face it: If you're a parent, traveling with kids can be a lot of fun but also extremely difficult. They have a tendency to get bored quickly and demand new, fun activities to keep them entertained. For parents who hope to work during their long flight, keeping kids occupied while also responding to emails and finishing projects can be challenging.

To avoid this, hire a nanny. A nanny can ensure your kids have everything they need during the flight.

2. Jet lag

Jet lag can affect your first couple of days on vacation. While this may be acceptable if you're taking a two-week vacation, you don't have this option for a quick holiday trip.  If you arrive during the day, don't fall asleep. This will help reset your internal clock so you can enjoy the holidays with your family.

3. Missed flight

Remember to stay calm and talk with someone in charge if you miss your flight. Often, an airline representative can waive fees for having to change flights. You may even be able to grab some nice upgrades if you missed your connecting flight because of a previous delay.

4. Lost luggage

Did you lose luggage during your cross-country flight? It happens. The first thing you should do is file a report with the airline. It also helps if you have a personal assistant on hand. He or she can handle the situation and even shop for new items as you wait for the airline to find your bag.
