Top 3 mistakes you make while traveling

The following travel mistakes are common. For those who don't travel often, they are easy errors to make. Avoid these by hiring a personal assistant who is adept at making travel arrangements.

1. Flying on the wrong days

Fridays and Sundays are the worst days of the week to travel. They tend to be much busier than Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Avoid traveling during any of the Top 10 Worst Travel Days of the Year according to USA Today. These include the day before Thanksgiving, Fridays in the summer, Christmas (including Christmas Eve), July 4, Memorial Day, spring break, New Year's Eve and Labor Day.

Other than that, you're good to fly any time you want!

2. Traveling during peak hours

Along with avoiding certain travel days, beware of certain times of the day. Monday mornings and Friday afternoons tend to be the busiest as traveling professionals are going to and from work. Keep in mind that vacationers usually travel Thursday, Sunday and some Friday afternoons. And, as mentioned previously, avoid traveling on the worst travel days of the year.

3. Forgetting winter items

Let's say your personal assistant has booked you the perfect flight. This is a great start to your trip, but things can quickly all apart if you don't pack correctly. If you're vacationing to a cold weather destination, make sure to bring warm clothes and sunscreen.
