If you're a personal chef in New York City or Los Angeles, you know that the time for catered holiday parties is quickly approaching. While some home kitchens rival those found in a restaurant, others — especially ones in apartments — can be a bit cramped and hard to work in. You may not have much say over what your employer does to their kitchen, but depending on where you live, you may have a good chance of working in a luxury kitchen within an apartment. A new study from Apartment Guide revealed which cities seem to have the best selection of apartments with excellent kitchen amenities which we've listed below:
- San Antonio
- Los Angeles
- Washington, D.C.
- New York City
- Salt Lake City
To create its list, the website looked through its listings and organized the apartments with the most advanced kitchens into geographical areas.
If you're skeptical about what could fit in an apartment kitchen, even a luxury one, you may be surprised at the types of appliances found in these densely-populated areas.
"Stainless steel appliances, dishwashers, and microwaves are important, but extra amenities like a kitchen island and granite countertops can make a kitchen more useful and elegant," writes Steve Harper on the Apartment Guide blog.
The website also listed the following items as essentials for a luxury apartment kitchen:
- Ceiling racks for pots and pans
- Shelves to store utensils and other kitchen accessories
- Stools for a kitchen island that can be used as an additional eating space
- Under-the-cabinet wine rack.
