Nanny Tips

3 springtime activities for nannies and children

Are you struggling to come up with fun ideas that the children will enjoy this spring? Don't worry, we have you covered! Here are three ideas that are sure to entertain the children:

1. Have fun in the city
There are plenty of fun things to do in the city this spring. Some include outdoor concerts, theater plays and carnivals. You might even consider taking a hike around the beautiful Lacy Park or Descanso Gardens in L.A.

2. Enjoy the great outdoors
Before spring weather arrives, create a list of springtime outdoor activities that the children will love. If you're not sure what to do because you're not the outdoor type, start with some simple activities. Think about what you enjoyed when you were younger.

Activities could include baseball, basketball or kickball. Try to avoid physically demanding sports – like football – unless you get the "ok" from their parents. From there, get creative and have the children come up with their own games. This is not only fun, but also sparks the children's imagination.

3. Start a spring and summer reading list
It's going to be difficult to convince the kids to put down the soccer ball and head to the library. However, it's very important that they make time to read recreationally. Not only is reading a great educational tool, but it also improves their creative and problem solving abilities.

One way to spark their interest is by reading outside. Check out a couple of books they'd be interested in reading, head to a local park and have a picnic. Then take a half hour to read. At the end of the session, sum up what they just read. For even more fun, you might even act out the chapters of each book.
