Domestic Staffing

3 ways to manage multiple job offers

If you receive multiple offers from staffing firms, it's important to understand how to manage the process while maintaining relationships.

Here we list three things you need to remember while trying to choose between two or more different offers.

1. Don't be afraid to ask for more time

Whether you're applying to be a chef, nanny, personal assistant or butler, you have the right to ask for more time to mull over multiple job offers. You want to choose the firm and family that you feel best fits your skill set.

The question then isn't whether you should ask for more time, but how to do it. In the case of working with staffing firms, positions can fill fairly quickly. Because of this, you have to be vigilant about whether to ask for more time.

2.  Make sure you get a written offer

Prior to signing on with a family, a staffing firm will likely create an offer letter for you. It will detail what's expected of you, as well as what you can expect from the family.

3.  Always say thank you

If you've been talking with multiple staffing firms, you've likely built relationships. Thank everyone you've been working with to ensure you maintain those relationships going forward. You never know when you might need to reach out to one of those recruiters again.
