4 ways to prepare for your winter getaway: Part Two

It's not easy planning a winter vacation, especially if you've never been on one before. If you're thinking of going away this winter, make sure you have your getaway well-thought out before hopping in the car or getting on an plane.

In the first part of our two-part series, we suggested that you hire a personal assistant to help you plan your vacation. He or she can not only plan the vacation but also assist you with work so you can enjoy time with your family.

Here are two more ways to prepare for your winter vacation:

1. Hire a nanny

If you're taking a week-long vacation with your children, you'll likely want to spend some time with your significant other. A nanny can watch your children while you and your spouse go skiing or go out to dinner. She'll make sure they're dressed appropriately for the cold and that they have both lunch and dinner. You also don't have to worry about your child's safety because many nannies are first aid certified.

2. Make it simple, yet fun

If skiing and snowboarding are a little too extreme for you and your family's tastes, try snow tubing or snow shoeing. Many resorts are only a few minutes away from snow tubing hills and have hiking trails close by. Remember to take pictures along the way!
