Nanny Services

No nanny for William and Kate, but another royal may be getting some help

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have yet made a public statement on whether or not they will employ a full-time nanny for their son, Prince George, but William's first cousin, Zara Phillips, has already indicated that she will hire a nanny once her firstborn child arrives. Phillips and her husband, Mike Tindall, are both professional athletes and an unnamed source close to the couple told The Daily Telegraph that because of their careers, additional childcare would be necessary.

"Zara and Mike both have a lot of sporting commitments next year, so they know they will need some extra help caring for the baby," said the source to the newspaper. "They want to be as hands-on as possible, but they have to be realistic about their respective workloads and all the travel that their jobs necessitate."

Phillips, daughter of Princess Anne, is an accomplished equestrian who, as a member of the British eventing team, won a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics. Tindall is a professional rugby player and former captain of England's national rugby union team. They were married in 2011 and are expecting their first child in early 2014.

Like most members of the Royal Family, Phillips was looked after by a nanny as a child. Unlike her cousin, it seems as if she will not be bucking tradition to raise her child without any assistance.

Finding a nanny can be a long process, and it is no surprise that Phillips and Tindall made their decision before their child was even born.
