William and Kate reconsidering hiring a nanny

It seemed as if the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would buck royal tradition by not hiring a full-time nanny to care for their newborn son, Prince George, but according to the Daily Mirror, the couple may have had a change of heart. The newspaper reports that Prince William has asked his former nanny, Jessica Webb, to come out of retirement. Webb spent five years working as William's nanny before caring for the children of other members of the Royal Family.

According to the Mirror, close friends and relatives have warned the couple about the difficulties of raising a child without any additional help.

An anonymous source told the Mirror that William and Kate "both accept the view that they won't be able to do it all. There is also a feeling that Kate might lay herself open to criticism if she is seen letting her mother have too much influence."

The source continued by saying, "William has fond memories of Jessie and they've put the idea to her that she comes back. I think she's very flattered."

Middleton is currently spending the summer with her parents at their estate in Bucklebury, England. After a brief paternity leave, Prince William has returned to his job as a search-and-rescue helicopter pilot in Wales. They are set to return to London in the fall.
